Approach to Care

My approach to care is non-pathologizing and person-centered. I aim to normalize the complex emotions that can come with difficult experiences while creating a space grounded in trust, curiosity, and safety. I believe meaningful therapy begins with a strong therapeutic relationship and, most importantly, some humor along the way.

Why I Do This

I believe we are relational beings living in a society that often asks us to navigate life alone. This can create real strain, and I consider it a privilege to connect with people as they work through life’s complexities. Everyone deserves a supportive, nonjudgmental space to process what they’re carrying. At the core of why I do this work is a simple belief: we take care of us.

What a First Session Will Be Like

In our first session, we’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what you hope to gain from the experience, and what you’re looking for in a therapist. I’ll ask questions about your experiences, and you’re encouraged to ask me questions, too. We’ll move at a pace that feels manageable and respectful of where you are.

Experience

I have worked in the mental health field for more than six years. My approach is informed by both lived experience and years of supporting people navigating systemic barriers, acute crises, and complex mental health concerns. Much of my work has also involved supporting people who feel isolated, apprehensive about the mental health system, or unsure where they fit within traditional models of care.

Education

Bachelor of Social Work- Metropolitan State University
Master of Social Work- University of St. Thomas- Anticipated May 2027

Personal Interests

Outside of work, I love spending time with my spouse, friends, and dog, not necessarily in that order. I enjoy nature walks, binge-worthy TV series, crafting, and thrifting, which often means driving to the middle of nowhere for my latest Facebook Marketplace find. I also really value downtime and anything that helps me slow down, recharge, and stay grounded.
