Approach to Care

My approach is person-centered and trauma-informed, creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard and be yourself. I believe therapy is a collaborative process, and I will work alongside you to understand your experiences, build on your strengths, and explore what feels most important to you.

Why I Do This

I believe everyone deserves to feel heard, understood, and supported without judgment. I value the opportunity to build genuine connections and walk alongside people as they navigate their experiences, at their own pace and in whatever way feels right for them. I strive to create a space where those who have felt unheard, misunderstood, or harmed by systems can feel respected, supported, and empowered to have their voices heard.

What a First Session Will Be Like

Our first session is a chance to get to know you, understand what brings you to therapy, and learn what feels important to you right now. We will start wherever you feel most comfortable and move at a pace that feels right for you.

Experience

I have more than 25 years of experience in human services, working alongside people with disabilities, individuals experiencing homelessness, and those navigating severe and persistent mental health challenges. These experiences have taught me the importance of listening to each person’s lived experience, honoring their strengths and expertise, and recognizing the ways that systems and life circumstances can shape our lives.

Education

Bachelor of Arts in Psychology – Metropolitan State University

Personal Interests

I enjoy spending time with my spouse and our two dogs, whether we’re exploring nature or snuggled up at home reading or writing. I treasure any time I get to spend with my two adult children and am passionate about continuing to learn and grow, both personally and professionally.
